THE 2022 KERERO CONSTITUTIONAL CONFERENCE- AUCKLAND UNIVERSITY 2022: Was held to Discuss, Inform – As to how the UNDRIP could be implemented into NZ’s Constitutional Arrangements . The transforming of NZs Constitution. Claire Charters made recommendations on the constitutional design (The aspirations of the Matiki Mai Report) reflected in Te Tiriti o Waitangi and He Whakaputanga . Also ideas that centred around Tikanga as a legal system of the land.

22^nd NOVEMBER 2022 NANAIA MUHUTA SPEECH AT THE CONSTITUTIONAL KORERO CONFERENCE: She referred to the Partnership between the Crown and Māori. The Principles of the Partnership in the Treaty and a consistent call for Constitutional change in NZ. That the NZ Govt supports Indigenous Business Connections through Indigenous led Collaboration Agreements where in August 2022 a new Indigenous Collaboration Agreement between NZ and Canada was signed to enhance Indigenous relationships. THE NZ HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION AND THE NATIONAL IWI CHAIRS FORUM PARTNERSHIP In designing a new Constitution for NZ worked together to implement the UNDRIP into NZs Constitutional Arrangements. 20^th March 2023 Auckland University. Indigenous Rights Conference. As a High Randing UN Official on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (Cali Tzay visited Auckland University) to participate in ‘Designing NZs  Constitutional Arrangements.  The conference was organized by the National Iwi Chairs Forum and NZ Human Rights Commission said to be in memory of Moana Jackson ( whom in the 1990’s helped to draft the UNDRIP at the UN itself). Margaret Mutu and Claire Charters were influential members of the Conference discussing Indigenous Rights in NZ. UN NEWS WEB PAGE 13^TH SEPTEMBER 2007. THE ADOPTION OF THE UN DECLARATION ON INDIGENOUS PEOPLES RIGHTS (UNDRIP) at the New York UN Assembly. The Vote= 143 Countries in Favor of the UNDRIP – 4 Opposed Australia, Canada. US and NZ. And 11 Abstentions. (The UNDRIP took approximately 25 years to draft with much controversy during the drafting of the UN Declaration). Several Iwi/Maori were involved in drafting the UNDRIP including Moana Jackson in the early 1990’s

WHY DID NEW ZEALAND LABOUR LED GOVERNMENT OBJECTED TO THE UNDRIP (DID NOT ADOPT IT??  NZs UN Representative was Rosemary Banks (She explained  why NZ would not adopt the UNDRIP). During the 25 years of drafting to UNDRIP there had been much controversy. She said that already nearly 40% of NZs Fishing Quota was owned by Māori as a result of NZ’s strategy for redress (Compensation to Treaty Claims. And claims to over half of  NZs land area had been settled already. (During the drafting of the UN Declaration NZ under Labour Govt had supported the principles and aspirations of the UNDRIP) Saying that NZ had already implemented most of the standards in the UNDRIP already. Rosemary Banks said the UN Declaration was well overdue from the perspective of a  basic Human Rights point of view. Saying NZ is proud to have participated in the drafting of the UNDRIP

BUT ROSEMARY BANKS STATED ‘ THAT ITS WITH GREAT REGRETS THAT NZ CANNOT PROMOTE (UPHOLD) SUPPORT THE TEXT OF THE UNDRIP BEFORE THE ASSEMBLY:  Saying there is a number of difficulties being:- Where a number of Provisions are fundamentally incompatible with NZs Constitutional and Legal Arrangements – Banks explained that “ Unfortunately, New Zealand had difficulties with a number of provisions of the text.  In particular, four provision and the Treaty Of Waitangi  *That the Treaty of Waitangi  is the principle of ‘governing for the good of ALL  NZ Citizens.  (Article 26 ) On Lands and Natural Resources & (Article 28) on Redress (Compensation) also (Articles 19 and 32 ) on the Rights of Veto over the State were reasons for not adopting the UNDRIP

(ARTICLE 26) THE PROVISIONS OF LANDS AND NATURAL RESOURCES COULD NOT BE IMPLEMENTED IN NZ: As (Article 26) states that Indigenous Peoples have a right to Own, Use, Develop or Control Lands and Terrirories that they had Traditionally owned – Occupied or Used. (this means the  entire Country is caught up in this scope). Thus requiring recognition to lands now lawfully owned by Maori and Non- Maori Citizens in New Zealand (With no recognition of Lawful Property Ownership and Rights)

THAT INDIGENOUS PEOPLES HAVE RIGHTS THAT OTHER NZ CITIZENS DO NOT HAVE: Article 28 in the UN Declaration on Redress (Compensation) this also takes into the scope the Entire Country of NZ. Again did not take into account Land legitimately owned by NZ Citizens.  And numerous overlapping Indigenous Claims. The UN Declaration implies that Indigenous peoples have a Veto Right over Democratic Legislature and National Resource Management. Again implied different classes of Citizenship where Indigenous had the Right that other Groups /Individuals do not have.

THE UNDRIP  IS FUNDAMENTALLY INCOMPATIABLE WITH DEMOCRATIC PROCESSES- LEGISLATION – CONSTITUIONAL ARRNGEMENTS IN NZ: Is seen purely as an Aspiration document, intended to Inspire with No Legal effect. Rosemary Banks added that “The history of drafting the UN Declaration was that the negotiations took place in a divided manner did not reflect in the States practice, would not be recognized as a general principle of law. . 15^th SEPTEMBER 2007 (TWO DAYS AFTER THE UNDRIP WAS OBJECTED TO BY THE LABOUR LED GOVERNMENT ‘ PAREKURA HOROMIA MINISTER OF MAORI AFFAIRS: Spoke in Parliament accusing the Māori Party of ‘Hollow Talk’ over Labours decision not to support the UNDRIP. He referred to Tariana Turia’s ridiculous claim “that the govt believe Indigenous People are Sub-Human with only Sub-Human Rights”. He called the UN Declaration ‘Toothless’. Incompatible with NZs Constitutional & Legal arrangements and NZs established Treaty Settlement Policy. He reinterated exactly what Rosemary Banks had said at the UN Assembly- why NZ would not endorse the UNDRIP and agreed with her. Horomia then told the Maori Party to “get their heads out of the clouds, to focus on achieving real milestones rather than Pie-In-The-Sky- Talk”

20^th APRIL  2010 JOHN KEY -NATIONAL PARTY PRIME MINISTER- DID THE DIRTY ON NZ CITIZENS WHEN HE MADE A SECRET DEAL WITH THE CO-LEADER OF THE MAORI PARTY PITA SHARPLES. Under a veil of secrecy  Sharples and Key arranged for Sharples to visit the UN and to adopt the UNDRIP. When Rodney Hide  took John Key to task on this in Parliament. John Key stated that the veil of Secrecy was “He did not want to spoil Pita Sharples Thunder”. Rodney Hide ACT Party leader was shocked and appalled that this had happened and bluntly made it known. RE-VISITING HISTORY (23^rd February 1999) SPEAKER IN THE HOUSE DOUG GRAHAM TREATY NEGOTIATIONS MINISTER: The speech  being on ‘Māori Claims for Sovereignty where the Māori Council were threatening to lobby APEC Countries to support them. Doug Grahams response was that APEC countries would not be interested..its no business of theirs. The Māori Council were determined to implement Maori Sovereignty based on the 1835 Declaration of Independence signed by 35 Māori Chiefs with well intentioned Missionaries Doug Graham in his speech referred to Justice Temm’s Judicial case of 1993 reiterating what was stated :-

THAT THE 1835 DECLARATION IS ONLY A MATTER OF INTEREST FOR HISTORIANS HAS NO RELEVANCE TO LAWYERS IN NZ: The course of events  from when the Treaty Of Waitangi was signed in 1840 (referencing Governor Hobson’s issuing his Proclamation on 21^st May 1840). The Royal Proclamation ratified the Treaty Of Waitangi (was published in the NZ Gazette on 2^nd October 1840) And from that year on the Writ of English Law began to run in NZ. Doug Graham said “If Māori still claim they are Sovereign, then Māori effectively terminated the Treaty Of Waitangi. Therefore have no rights to Treaty Claims” (They cannot have it both ways Doug Graham added) And to that point he said that “He cannot see that Māori would rescind Treaty Claims”

DOUG GRAHAM CONCLUDED ‘ THAT’S ITS QUESTIONABLE WHY THE MAORI COUNCIL ARE ACTUALLY CLAIMING SOVERIENTY OF NZ: Asking “Is it because they want to have the sole right to pass laws binding on ALL NZ Citizens or is it just Māori?” And “Surely that would be reliant on Māori Support”?  and “ where is that support?” and “How would that work?”. “Would Māori in Auckland be subjected to different laws as applied to their Non-Māori neighbors that live next door”? Then Doug Graham concluded that “Māori in NZ do not live on reservations like the Natives in Canada, and that from a practical point of view ‘Māori Sovereignty is totally inconsistent with todays world”

DOUG GRAHAM ALSO SAID THAT ‘ ENGLISH COMMON LAW NOR THE TREATY OF WAITANGI WOULD PERMIT ‘MAORI SOVEREIGNTY’ That the Treaty Of Waitangi did not include any concept of a ‘Joint Government’ And that there are those that continue to mislead the citizens of NZ in thinking that the Treaty Of Waitangi is a Partnership between Crown & Maori”

DAVID SEYMOUR TODAY ANNOUNCED THAT THE NZ  HUMAN RIGHT COMMISSION SHOULD BE GONE (FULL STOP). Peters is correct we should abolish the UNDRIP. Revisiting History – In 1971 George Manuel the President of the Columbian National Brotherhood met with the Māori Council. Graeme Latimer was the Chair of the Maori Council. He also later became the Co Founder of the Waitangi Tribunal. George Manuel had travelled the world for Native Peoples to adopt the coined phrase ‘Indigenous Peoples’. This is when it became popularized on NZ Shores. Graham Latimer led 250 so called Indigenous people on a visit to Columbia to launch the World Indigenous Council. George Manuel became the first President of the UN World Indigenous Council.

THE UNDRIP SITS  IN SOFT LAW -OUTSIDE HARD LEGISLATIVE LAW (It is a Non-Binding Declaration)  There have been continued pushes to embed the UN Declaration into NZs Constitutional Arrangements and Domestic Policies. With Claire Charters influential member of the National Iwi Chairs Forum visiting the UN on a number of occasion to ask for UN High Level Official support  to demand that the NZ Govt  officially legislate the  UNDRIP. However the change in Govt is proving rather difficult- so another trip to the UN by Claire Charters last month where she accused the Three Party Coalition of being Repressive when it comes to adopting the UN Declaration not acknowledging Iwi/Māori (So called Indigenous Rights)

The 2005 ‘Atlantic Storm’ Table-top simulation Exercise focusing on the Inter-dependence that is demonstrated among International Communities in the face of Epidemics & Biological Weapons. * Another John Hopkins Centre Exercise namely ‘CLADEX’ in 2018. Was a major table-top exercise on major political and policy decision making that would emerge if a global catastrophic biological event was to occur.

The one I find most interesting is John Hopkins Bloomberg Centre For Health Security – namely EVENT 201’ which took place on October 18th 2019. Only e months before the emergence of the COVID19 Pandemic. Of course Fact Checkers- and the usual participants- NGO’s- Govts etc., have said “Nothing to See Here- Its nothing to do with the emergence of the COVID 19 Pandemic”

The 18th October 2019 ‘201’ Global Pandemic Table-top Exercise was held at the Pierre Hotel in New York. The Global Pandemic Exercise concluded with Recommendation including a Call of Action for Public-Private Partnerships for a Global Pandemic Preparedness Response. The John Hopkins Global Pandemic Table-top Exercise was played out like it was in reality the pending Global Pandemic with all the mandatory Restrictions. Involved Radio and TV Broadcasting. Mis-Disinformation Campaigns.

Economic and societal impacts- social consequences- suffering. Unpresented levels of collaboration between govts, international organizations and the Private Sector. Lockdowns, social distancing. The challenges posed by the populations. A new robust form of public-private cooperation to address the pandemic. This included Govts international organizations, business, have essential corporate capabilities to be utilized on a very large scale during the Pandemic. Stating public sectors will be over-whelmed. Economic losses. Social Media, communications systems, global news media needed to enable govts emergency response. Operational partnerships between govt responses

WHO currently had a influenza vaccine stockpile with contracts to pharmaceutical companies that they agreed to supply during a global Pandemic. WHOs ability to distribute vaccines and therapeutics to countries in the greatest need. WHO R& D Blueprint Pathogens to be deployed in clinical trials during outbreaks in collaborations with CEPT, GAVI and WHO with Bi- or multinational agreements

Since Anthropology emerged as a scientific discipline in the 19^th Century the coined phrase Indigenous and Tribal Peoples have been a major focus. According to the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues there is reported to be 370 Million so called Indigenous people in 90 countries globally (Reported By the UN). Approx 70% live in Asia. There is reported to be 5,000 ethnic Cultures of Indigenous People

The Rights & Interests of so called Indigenous Peoples are recognized through various International Declarations Eg; 1989 Internation Labor Org., Convention (No 169) * 1992 UN Convention on Biological Diversity * 2007 UN Declaration On The Rights Of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) The UNDRIP covers Civil, * Political * Economic *Social * Cultural *Environmental Rights & Interests under International Law (Also Human Rights Laws)

The UNDRIP imposes Obligations , Commitments on UN Member States, Organizations & Inter-governmental bodies. Included is the International Work Group for Indigenous Affairs http://www.iwgia.org/culture-and-identity/ identification-of-indigenous-people)  Also a growing body of Human Rights Entities

The Diversity of Indigenous peoples was adopted by the UN System, where a modern understanding of this was utilized worldwide. The modern understanding of the coined phrase Indigenous Peoples met the following criteria by the UN as ‘Self-Identification ‘ *Historical continuity with Pre-colonial History and / or Pre-Settler Societies * Accepted by their Tribal Community  *Ancestral environment.  Indigenous Peoples were historically referred to as Tribal or Native Peoples

There is Official Universal definition of the coined phrase Indigenous Peoples in International Law. (UN). Although various UN Agencies and International NGOs- Corporations etc., with self interests also Central/Local Govts of UN Nations States have utilized the coined phrase Indigenous Peoples as to Regulations- Policies- Political and Monetary self -interests.

In the 1970’s the coined phrase was used as a way of linking experiences, issues, struggles of groups- ( De-Colonization). The first meeting of the UN Working Group of Indigenous Populations (WGP) took place 9/8/1982. Is now celebrated as the International Day of the Worlds Indigenous People. Again – No definition of Indigenous People was adopted by the UN Agency. The Secretariat of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous issues stated.

In the “concept of Indigenous Peoples the prevailing view today, is that there is No Formal Universal Definition on the term ‘Indigenous Peoples – given that a single definition will inevitably be with or with (over or under) inclusiveness- thus making sense in some societies but not in others”. However a number of UN Agencies have used the term Indigenous Peoples on Statements, coverages for certain International Agreements (But these are definitions used for particular reports)

Another example is that the Inter-American Commission On Human Rights doesn’t provide a definition of Indigenous Peoples, but have stated that ‘Self-identification’ as being a fundamental criteria’.  Manvir Singh an  Anthropologist states there’s a lack of coherence, inconsistencies  in which ethnic groups are called Indigenous or not. People argue the term. Have pressure put on them to self identify themselves as Indigenous People’. Thus erasing Identification. This varies from one country to another. Adding – There is no accepted Universal Definition of  the coined phrase Indigenous Peoples

The UN ILO International Labour Org., twice adopted definitions of Indigenous Peoples at their Conventions in 1957 & 1989. Only a few countries acknowledged it therefore could not be used in International Law. Only by the countries that adopted the definition. The World Bank  definition of Indigenous People is not Binding by International law as it is determined within Banks Operational Policies * Policy Guidelines. Documents and Agreements of ‘Good Faith’

UN Agenda 21 (1992) recognized the potential contribution in using the coined phrase Indigenous Peoples referring to Sustainable Development. The 2024 UN Biodiversity Conference (COP 16) UN Nation States agreed to a new permanent body for Indigenous Peoples. Which allows them to advise COP members on Biodiversity (An Indigenous worldview) on Sustainability.

From the UN 1993 World Conference on Human Rights- the  (UN Vienna Declaration ) was adopted- recognizing the culture of Indigenous Peoples. Described as a ‘Strong Commitment to – Economic *Social*Cultural Wellbeing. (The enjoyment of the Fruits of Sustainable Development)  9^th August 1994 UN proclaimed as International Day of the Worlds Indigenous People (Their Rights & Interests) 1995 UN launched the Decade of the Worlds Indigenous Peoples. (UN Resolution 49/214) Furthering-Advancing the Global Agenda

The UN in 2021 referenced the UN Human Rights & Fundamental Freedoms of Indigenous Peoples. To be documented into International laws Namely ‘Under the Umbrella of Social Justice. Dystopia ‘ Some Animals have more rights than others.

Te Pati Maori’s strong connection to the UNDRIP (Universal Declaration on the Rights of Indifenous Peoples). First adopted on  13^th September 2007  at the New York UN Assembly. It had taken 20 + years to draft. There was much debate and discussion during this time on the UNDRIP by the working group at the UN

. Te Pati Maori actively engage in the Principles of the UNDRIP (Seld Governance). With Te Tiriti o Waitangi committed to the UNDRIP. Several Kerero Constitutional Conventions held at Auckland University. Preplanning the embedding of the UNDRIP into NZs Constitutional Arrangements. The UNDRIP being a crucial tool for Iwi/Maori Self-Governance

Although NZ Rejected the UNDRIP in 2007 – John Key and Pita Sharples Deputy leader of the Maori Party made a deal. Under a veil of secrecy Pita Sharples attended the UN and adopted the UNDRIP for NZ. When John Key was asked by the secrecy his response was “I did not want to spoil Pita Sharples Thunder’. New Zealand’s have no say when it comes to the State adopting International Laws. NZ is a party to some 1900 International Agreements.

Although the UNDRIP is Non-Binding there is also a commitment, obligation to pursue it, implement it. Its not legally Legislative. Sit outside Hard Law  as a Soft Law, can be used– called upon- referenced by the Judicial. Unless it is embedded in NZ Domestic Laws its Non Binding. (But there are  serious implications when it comes to implementing the UNDRIP in NZ.

It all lies in the 2007 UNDRIP adoption in the New York UN Assembly where Rosemary Banks Representative of NZ shared with the assembly why NZ would not adopt it. Its extremely important to know why because this is the real reason for the Hikoi. For David Seymour being attacked. Spoiling Te Pati Maori and their activist collaborators thunder for their self interested preplanning for their future self  interests. (The reasons for the insame aggressive behavior in Parliament)

Lets get to the root of the course.. Firstly the UNDRIP adoption into legislation is crucial for the Self Governance of Iwi/Maori. UNDRIP is a crucial tool- a weapon of aggression… NZ * US * Canada * Australia did not ratify the Declaration at this time…Rosemary Banks was NZs Representative at the UN New York Assembly at the time.

She explained to the gathering why NZ would not sign the UNDRIP. (1) It gives Indigenous Peoples Control- ownership of Entire Lands of NZ (2) Did not take into account that people already legally-lawfully owned land (Had Property Rights)  (3)Redress- Compensation for Entire Lands of NZ (Ownership- Control of All NZs Natural Resources (4) Veto Rights Over Legislation  (5) Two Classes of Citizenship).

Winston Peters states NZ First will dump the UNDRIP (That’s not happened yet). David Seymour is skirting around the edges not talking about the UNDRIP. But targeting how Farmers are having to seek Cultural Rights on their lands by  Iwi Tribal Groups. And that Council.

Such as Auckland Council has an Iwi Advisory Independent Group where people , businesses, farmers have to seek their advice on Resource Management Consents. (Co-Governance – Veto Rights are already (still) being implemented. ACT PARTY now have a Petition online to Dump Te Mana Te Wai it appears regulations, rules are being made by those whom have Iwi/Maori ancestry

THE ‘BEEHIVE’  MASS MIGRATION BILL THESE ARE VALID REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD BE CONCERNED

UNEMPLOYMENT: 4th July 2024  ANZ reported that Job seeker numbers jump 40,000 more people are expected to be out of work by 2025 (Stuff NZ) Unemployment is rising, the number of people on Job seeker has risen by 14,000 compared to June last year. 40,000 plus people could be without a job by the end of this year. For many this is mentally challenging. Ministry Of Social Development data shows week ending June 30th 2024 there were 113,415 people work ready on job seeker support, receiving a weekly payment that supports people until they can find work. This has jumped up by 14,709 from the week ending 30th June 2023.   June 14 to June 21, 2024, recipients had jumped by 702. People on the Jobseeker Support- Health Condition or Disability also increased from 73,836 to 82,482 in the same period.

MASSIVE SHORTAGE OF JOBS: 18th April 2018 The Beehive  replayed Jacinda Ardern’s speech she made at the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation in Berlin, as she shared the platform with Chanceller Angela Merkel. The topic was Progressive and Inclusive Growth, she introduced her speech embracing the fact that she had in previous years been the President of the International Union of Socialist Youth and had attended the UN during that time.. where she said she discussed the emerging financial crisis with other Socialist members, saying she sensed a global uncertainty at the time. Is universal basic income on the way?

GOVERNMENT CHOOSES MESSAGES OF FEAR OR HOPE: Then Ardern changed course with her speech to that of Globalization, saying “of course its not new, in NZ we have grappled with this issue and its impact for decades, the sense of insecurity has strengthened over the years. Globalization has been distributed disproportionately to the few, there’s a growing sense that ordinary people  are working harder and harder just to stay in the same place”, she said. Ardern then added “rapid technological change is happening in every country, even in New Zealand where the workforce faces the prospect of ‘that more than 45% of jobs will no longer exist or be completely replaced  within just 2 decades. We can offer a message of hope, or one of fear” As politicians we have a choice as to how we respond to this growing, but justifiable dissatisfaction. “We either offer a message of hope, or a message of fear” she said.. The whole of NZ Government knew about the risk of 45% unemployment within 2 decades in 2018.  Reuters News August 7th 2024  (Asia/Pacific) Refers to  NZ’s Rising Jobless Rate.  Rising unemployment in NZ, annual wage growth at 2 year low.

HOUSING: Housing Crisis in New Zealand has persists after 4 decades. 24th August 2023. Over a hundred thousand people in New Zealand are experiencing homelessness.. Increasing property costs are an economic burden, affecting the living standards and mental wellbeing of  families.  40 percent living in overcrowded homes. 14th March 2024 NZ Herlad ‘NZs Housing Crisis Has Not Eased And It’s Going To Get Worse. ANZ It’s a Case of Back To The Future says ANZ Economists as they refer to NZ’s widening Housing Deficit (30/5/2023) Surging migration and falling residential construction has seen the return of the housing deficit.

HOUSE RENTALS: Auckland’s Housing Crisis, severe shortage of housing. Rent value continues to climb, standing at $690 per week, a 6% increase from the same period last year. . Demographics reveals that renters under the age of 30 constitute the largest segment, comprising 34.3% of those actively searching for properties. Closely behind are those aged 30-39, representing 32.9% of the market. However, it’s important to note that the housing crisis extends beyond generation gaps, with significant percentages of renters in their 40s, 50s, and even 60s and above grappling with the challenges of finding suitable accommodation.

AFFORDABLE HOMES: The shortage of affordable housing in Auckland has far-reaching consequences, impacting individuals, families, and the broader community. High rental prices strain household budgets, leaving many families struggling to make ends meet. For younger generations, soaring rents pose a significant barrier to saving for homeownership, perpetuating a cycle of renting and financial instability. Furthermore, inadequate housing options contribute to overcrowding and homelessness, exacerbating social inequalities and compromising public health.

HEALTH:  Funding for Health fails to keep up with Inflation or demand- (Doctors Union) 13th May 2024 . Taxpayers money that is earmarked for Health every year is failing to keep pace with inflation or demand,               1 in 3 NZrs are missing out on Healthcare of some kind (Said Doctors Union Report) Patients are being caught in the revolving doors of the Health System. “If you don’t get preventative care, then you end up in the emergency system. If you end up in the emergency system, you end up in the hospital. Then the Hospital cannot deliver the planned care, therefore people who need planned care deteriorate, need more support in Primary Care. Then Primary Care gets busier, can’t support people so they end up in emergency care, this is the cycle that’s happening where people cannot get their health needs met, this is just terrible

PRIMARY HEALTH CARE: Prof Robin Gauld University of Otago Centre for Health Systems said that “health funding is not sufficient to meet current demand, never has been and does now, let alone in the future, it’s a national scandal”  13th August 2024 ‘The Post’ News..A Health System On The Brink of Failure’. . Access to Primary Healthcare is a crucial yet a ¼ million Kiwi’s cannot even register with a local GP. This is a daily reality for thousands of families. Parents unable to get timely care for their sick children. Elderly patients struggling to manage chronic health conditions without regular checkups, working adults delay treatment for health issues that are left unchecked which could become serious and life threatening

G P SHORTAGE: Ripple through communities, Longer waiting times, overcrowded emergency depts dealing with issues that should be handled in Primary Care. Increased stress on Health Workforce. In Rural areas the situation is often more dire, with some communities being left with no GP services at all.

NZ MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEM FAILUIRE:  This is a real threat to NZ’s public Health System. Solving the GP Crisis is not just about healthcare.. Youth Mental Health is experiencing a rolling crisis with increased waiting times (10/4/2024. NZ Mental Health Service is broken in NZ states World Mental Health Foundation. NZ Doctors say this is ‘soul destroying to see NZ Mental Health System no longer fit for purpose (Study 500 Physicians 19/9/2023)

INFRASTRUCTURE: ‘ TRANSPORT’ The $200 Billion Problem. How broken is NZ Infrastructure?  (27/3/2024 Stuff. NZ) Refers to years and years of under-investment in the current infrastructure. NZ Herald 25th June 2024 NZs Infrastructure woes. How do we fix a $1 trillion problem? The Government is being warned that it must invest in New Zealand’s ageing infrastructure – or face the prospect of a major disaster. It comes after a week of infrastructure woes, with the Defence Force plane breaking down, a track fault cancelling all trains in Auckland, widespread power cuts in Northland, and an Interisland ferry running aground. On Friday, the Aratere Inter-islander ferry was on its way to Wellington when it experienced steering failure just outside Picton. The same ferry that lost power in 2023 when 538 people were on board.

A TRILLION DOLLARS TO FIX: Investment ‘infrastructure” “The Government’s worst nightmare would be something more like last year’s Kaitaki incident if that ferry had not narrowly avoided disaster. There were 864 people on board, the ship lost power in Cook Strait and started drifting towards Wellington’s rocky south coast and issued a Mayday call. New Zealand has under-invested in core infrastructure for years, well below the average OECD spend. ASB estimates it is going to cost about $1 trillion to fix our infrastructure and bring it up to standard.

LOCAL GOVT ACT 2002 ‘ THE ADDED COST TO NZ RATE PAYERS: 24th June 2024 NZ Herald ‘NZs Infrastructure  caused by a lack of long term thinking..refers to decaying infrastructure. However 2002 The Local Govt Bill, before it was passed as legislation the government knew that there was a major loophole in the Act, where businesses could not be fined, brought before the courts for dumping contaminate waste water, which could have been fixed within a month but 2 decades later and still not fixed.  27th January 2021 RNZ reported that a drafting error was stopping contamination fines, which could have been fixed within a month referring to the Local Govt Act 2002

NEGLECTFUL ‘IGNORANCE OF GOVERNMENT’ :Never mind ‘Just Blame the Farmers’ rather than admit blame themselves. An RNZ investigation found at least 270 companies had breached trade waste water consents in one year, none faced prosecution Council pleas fell on death ears for almost 20 years. In 2021 it was said that Nanaia Mahuta Local  Govt Minister needs to get her A into G and set some penalties, amend the legislation. Stuart Crosby President of Local Government NZ lobbied for 18 years for change, for the government to close the loophole. Brand name companies across NZ were breaching waste water consents several times a year. Ammonia, toxins and other hazardous wastes were being leached into drains. Ammonia eating away pipes under the ground, where vehicles and people have fallen into this broken infrastructure. 2024 and still not fixed.  The Govt preferring an Educational point of view to deal with the breaching of waste water consents rather than fining companies. A huge expense for Rates Payers to fork out.

THE STATE OF NZ ROADS: RNZ 9th January 2024 ‘They are a Laughing Stock’. Anger Over State Highway One’ ‘POTHOLES’. Several sections of NZs state highways are described as in ‘shocking condition’. The Automobile Association (AA) saying that State Highway 1 is the ‘poor shop window’ of a network riddled with potholes and road surface issues. There are reports of roads being in horrendous condition, just patches on patches. Transport Minister Simeon Brown said in the Morning Report that the State Of NZ Roads are in the 100day plan. National promised in the election $500 million dollar ‘Pothole Repair Fund’. This is merely a band-aid approach. Remember Marsden Point produced 70% of the bitumen used on NZ Roads, and the Labour led govt closed Marsden. Leaving NZrs with a boat without a paddle- sink or swim. No quick fix.. Buying international bitumen does not have the same quality as the Bitumen produced at Marsden Point.

EDUCATION: Christopher Luxon Education achievement has declined over the last 30 years, 2/3rds of students are failing to pass minimum literacy and numeracy standards for NCEA, 98% of Decile One Year 10 students failed a basic writing test, jeopardizing children’s futures.  The Education Dept  Government is failing our young, they are being dumbed down. Start teaching them their ABCs instead of their LGBTQ1+++ and stop teaching race based ideologies.

DEFICIT IN CLASSROOMS: RNZ reports 4th July 2024 ‘New Schools and Classrooms Urgently Needed In High Growth Areas, Ministry Warns. Reference was made to a Briefing Pape  April 2024 ‘ “ A roll bulge (increase) moving through secondary schools, referring to migration bringing an extra 20,800 school children. 10,400 of them to Auckland.  A briefing warned “postposing new schools could create overcrowding at existing schools in high growth areas”. Reference was made to infrastructure where school buildings are designed to fill a capacity of 1200 students and now there are 1400 students in those schools (where the water pressure drops because of the amount of flushing going on and the amount of water used.

Rember we have 400,000 people without jobs on the jobseeker until they can find jobs, under the Traffic Lights System, Jacinda Ardern’s words in 2018 45% unemployment in NZ within 2 decades. Homeless is still a huge problem and Rents increasing significantly. School infrastructure not coping, infrastructure needs major maintenance, waiting times for doctors, emergency depts dealing with cases that could be seen by a doctor, but several weeks waiting to see some GPs.

IMMIGRATION NZ IS CORRUPT TO THE CORE:  As Immigration staff tell of behind the scenes dysfunction to RNZ News 3rd September 2023.  Immigration officers told to ignore criminal conviction, ignore investigations, ignore warns, ignored attached documents, grant applications for work, student, visitor and residence visa’s. Take all on face value. Pass as quickly as possible. Those that pass the most get a ‘shout out” those whom are too slow get a ‘warning’ Do not query, use a streamline approach on visitors visa’s. If migration staff declined an application senior managers over-ruled it. Immigration staff were deeply unhappy about this, with some leaving their jobs. It was those that left their jobs that reported this to RNZ . Immigration NZ corrupt to the core. Surely this is a National Security Risk.

Misinformation, disinformation, hate speech and other risks to the information ecosystem are fueling conflict, threatening democracy and human rights, and undermining public health and climate action. “The United Nations Global Principles for Information Integrity aim to empower people to demand their rights,” said the Secretary-General. “At a time when billions of people are exposed to false narratives, distortions and lies, these principles lay out a clear path forward, firmly rooted in human rights, including the rights to freedom of expression and opinion.”  The UN chief issued an urgent appeal to government, tech companies, advertisers and the PR industry to step up and take responsibility for the spread and monetization of content that results in harm.
