The NZ Police list of Designated Terrorist Entities, includes 23 groups, none of which are Christian affiliated.

In our recent Substack, “Why Are The NZ Defence Force Training To Kill Christians??”, and accompanying video, we show leaked NZDF training materials used at Burnham as recently as last month. In this military exercise, the core enemy group, the “Visayan People’s Front” (VPF), is described as a “Christian extremist group” recruiting indigenous youth with promises of a “return to the traditional ways of a Christian nation,” explicitly mirroring Māori-Christian history and present‑day rural/urban political divides. The script reads like a cut‑and‑paste of today’s culture war: Christian so‑called “extremists”, campus occupations, referendums, coups and armed factions – all woven together in a way that treats conservative or Christian worldviews as a security threat.

This is happening alongside NZDF’s longstanding commitment to Pride Pledge / Rainbow Tick / LGBTQIA+ and wider DEI structures. An OIA response shows NZDF has spent over $45,000 over the past three years on Pride Pledge fees alone, with compulsory “rainbow awareness” training, rainbow KPIs and participation in nationwide cross‑agency rainbow leadership networks embedded through the organisation. This is public money underwriting an ideological programme, not just neutral ‘inclusion’. We identify this as an example of “psychological warfare: narrative, language and training materials being used to dehumanise, destabilise and push populations toward crisis so a pre‑baked ‘solution’ can be imposed.” When a fictional enemy looks and sounds this much like a portion of our own people – defined largely by faith and socially conservative values – and when troops are authorised in the scenario to use deadly force in that context, we are no longer talking about abstract doctrine. We are grooming a mindset in which ordinary New Zealanders of certain beliefs can be mentally placed on the other side of the gun.

Trans rights activists label ordinary citizens who reject trans ideology as ‘extreme right wing Christians’… which is untrue. Now we can see why that’s an important part of the rhetoric they have created. Are we seeing the start of the next ‘phase’ of psychological warfare in New Zealand? Penny demonstrated this in her earlier analysis of the ‘Anti Transgender Extremism’ publication that can be found on the NZPolice website. Is DEI a Trojan horse that replaces merit‑based selection with equity targets, potentially placing less suitable individuals in strategic and senior roles within our Defence Force and intelligence agencies – and compromising the protection of New Zealand citizens?

This raises urgent questions for Parliament: ● Who approved these specific NZDF training scenarios, and what independent oversight checks are in place for ideological bias where religion and politics are concerned? ● How far have external DEI / rainbow standards shaped training and doctrine, beyond HR policies and workplace culture? ● What protections exist to ensure that mainstream Christian or conservative views are NOT quietly re‑classified as “extremism” inside our Defence Force?

We respectfully ask you to: 1. Initiate select committee scrutiny (e.g. through the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee) of NZDF training content and its relationship with Pride Pledge / Rainbow Tick and other DEI providers. And for this committee to declare conflicts of interest! 2. Require disclosure of all NZDF contracts, spending and policy links related to rainbow and DEI certification schemes and programme implementation, including weaving DEI through training manuals and workplace policies over at least the last five years. 3. Review, in light of the Bill of Rights, how “extremism” is being defined and operationalised in NZDF doctrine and training.

We refer to the internal training documents that were used by 3RCW in Burnham Military Camp for JNCO Courses in 2025. Specifically we refer to the General Idea, Company OPORD and other specific OPORDs. We note the framing of the enemy for the exercises as “Christians extremists” and their intent to defend “traditional values”. Our questions relate to this and are as follows:

1. How widely is this General Idea with this enemy scenario used? i.e. what units and courses use it?
   2. When and by whom was this enemy scenario developed?
   3. When and by whom was this enemy scenario approved?
   4. Why does this enemy scenario differ from the DATE-P scenarios generally used by NZ Army?
   4. What other current training documents within the NZDF use an enemy based on Christians or people with traditional values?
   6. Given that fictional enemy scenarios are typically built upon actual or likely adversaries does the NZDF assess Christians or people with traditional values as a likely adversary?
   7. What, if any, communication has occurred from senior leadership directing alignment to Christians or people with traditional values as a threat group?
   8. What, if any, communication has been provided from government or other government agencies on Christians or people with traditional values as a threat group?

Researching the  Official Information Act  Site- I found an OIA Request from a S E Shaw to NZDF (NZ Defence Force)    SE Shaw referenced  the Burnham Military Camp Training   documents for Junior Non-Commissioned Officer Courses (JNCO) 2025 – Painting- Framing the Enemy as Christians that have Traditional Values seen as the Enemy- Violent Extremist on an Island resembling the South Island of NZ. His OIA Request included a number of questions (awaiting response from NZDF)

Described as a ‘ 5^th Generation Warfare Narrative’ * Language training materials being used to dehumanize. Destabilize . This Burnham Military Camp Training Program that paints, frames Christians as Violent Extremists defending their Traditional Values . Its highly questionable ..Does  this psychologically influence the minds of those soldiers  – of  society?   Does this potentially cause Trust Issues – As to- who and who not to trust? Biases towards Christians (framed as the enemy)? These questions I ask based on  search results pertaining to the Psychology of Combat Training-(Simulation Training & Religion)

Which refers to the potential  cause of ‘ Moral Injury’ and  ‘Cognitive Dissonance’ being –  particularly when soldiers belong to a Faith Group (Identify with Christian Adversaries ). Training conflicts with their personal morals (ethical or religious conviction). This being a form of Psychological Harm.    Simulation Training Exercises often use dehumanizing tactics. Making the enemy nameless or employing specific stereotypes to create a sense of ‘Otherness’.

Psychological harm can occur when an individual violates their own deeply held moral beliefs. The Enemy ‘Definition Crisis ‘. If a simulation Training Exercises may force a Christian Soldier to fight Christian adversary (Enemy) . Challenging Good vs Evil. Causing to question the justification of the conflict. The potential for increased distress

Studies indicate that while Religious Beliefs can provide Resilience.. A  conflict can contradict those beliefs such as fighting a fellow believer of the Christian Faith can trigger a negative inability to cope leading to PTSD Symptoms. Disrupt cognitive, moral, spiritual frameset, potentially causing emotional mental ethical distress rather than that of effective training. This impact often manifests in Cognitive Dissonance (Moral Injury).

Moral Injury results when Military Personal are exposed to Moral Injurious events.. that conflict with their values and beliefs Self Identity Lost and Found . Moral Injury/Cognitive Dissonance . The Human Spirit is the Essential Core of Individuals. The Deepest part of Self. (More than characteristics & roles associated with ones identity. The Human Spirit is a motivating force directed towards realizing higher orders * goals * aspirations that grow out of the essential self.

When exposed to a Persons Core Self, ideals * perceptions of reality can be shattered and their Spirit broken, leaving them spiritually  and existentially struggling. Moral Injury/Cognitive Dissonance is a form of Spiritual Christian Religious Struggle associated with Depressive Symptoms that impact on psychological wellbeing /health. May cause distress, increased mental health symptoms and a greater risk of mortality (Disconnection from others)  That impacts on Population- Society -Public Distrust.

The use of specific Religious Groups in military (Training Exercises). Where  Christians are the Adversary Enemy. The Military framing  of Religious Faith Identity influencing broader cultural narratives that may potentially causing societal conflict- – Disunity and Violence within population attitudes.                                                                                   NZrs experienced this post the Mosque attacks in March 2019. This still exists due to the continued expansion of painting Christians with Traditional Beliefs as Far Right Supremacists

My research into psychological harm. Moral Injury / Cognitive Dissonance defines that Military Training Exercises may cause Psychological Stress. When contradictory Beliefs/Values (Such as Traditional Values) become significantly heightened when Military Training scenarios portray the enemy as Christians holding Traditional Christian Values. This scenario creating direct conflict between a soldiers deeply held personal religious faith and traditional values as a Christian

The Military objective views the opposite, thus potentially leading to Severe Mental Distress. Reduced Combat Readiness (which puts them also at risk -in harms way). Reduces Combat effectiveness. Causing Moral Injury/Cognitive Dissonance. Attributing to fictional enemies in Military  Training Programs. The internalizing Moral framework that creates an unresolved Cognitive Dissonance which can potentially cause severe PTSD. (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). This can lead to Hypocrisy-Shame-Blame-Guilt – A Loss of Moral Identity (Particularly in Western Militaries)

Painting, framing Christians as Violent Extremists- those that believe in Traditional Values.. Even in  Army Simulation Training Exercises can potentially cause much damage to our Soldiers and  Society itself.  The Three Party Coalition needs to publicly answer to these very serious concerns…. Respond to the questions asked  in the S E Shaw OIA Request.  And the United We Stand NZ Group. Also Investigative Reporters  -Women & Childrens Advocate Penny-Marie and Rachel Scotts letter of concern to the Three Party Coalition Leaders and their MPs.

Yes, through the research I have personally undertaken this does appear to be Psychological -Spiritual-Ideological Warfare. That has the potential/ has already caused – Disunity-disharmony- fragmentation of Society by targeting People in NZ that are Christians with Traditional Beliefs. Why and Who Developed/ Approved the NZ Defence Force Training at Burnham Military Camp? OIA Request from John Armstrong  to NZ Transport Agency  dated (18/1/2026) requesting a response from NZTA as to the reasons why the Destiny Church Protest-Pre-planned march over the Auckland Harbour Bridge 31^st January 2026 was not permitted for Safety reasons. John Armstrong sought responses to various import questions out of strong Public Interest and reasons of transparency where restrictions are placed on ‘Freedom Of  Speech & Peaceful Assembly. Questioning whether the restrictions were evidence based & applied consistently. (NZTA notified John Armstrong they would respond to his OIA on or before 16^th February 2026)

Its questionable whether there is a bone of contention in not permitting Destiny Church Protest  to cross the Harbour Bridge.  Christian people with Traditional Values. Over the last 5 years Brian Tamaki’s Destiny Church has been targeted by NZ Police- Central & Local Govt * Academia * NGO’s *LGBTQ1 + * Pro Palestine Protestors etc., Obviously Destiny Church is seen as the Adversary Christian Enemy.  ( Once again an ideological conflict with Christian People defending Traditional Values).

However, later that day to keep peace, the Police & Maori Wardens accompanied the Protestors over the Bridge (Under Duress) (News Article Te Ao Maori News 26/2/2022). Although eventually allowed to cross the Bridge it was obvious Destiny Church had become the Adversary Christian Enemy.

A number of events over the years have taken place which have included crossing the Auckland Harbour Bridge without safety warnings or restrictions:- For instance the  large ‘One Ocean’ protest convoy of approximately 500 vehicles and boats (November 22^nd)  travelled across the Auckland Harbour Bridge to Mission Bay,. Also the ‘Walk It-Wheel It across Auckland Harbour Bridge events, supported by Auckland City Council in 2023 over a 5 day period. 60,000 Aucklanders were reported to having the chance to take part (12, 19, 26^th March & 2^nd April 2023)

The Training Program of the NZDF is yet another one of those very contentious projects that should cause NZRs serious concerns.. in Judith Collins Portfolio-( the Training of the NZ Military). The others are the GE-GMO Bill and Digital Identification (Imprisonment).
